I’ll never get bored making birthday cards for my friends and family. It’s my favorite ritual of gratitude. Working on the card is a perfect occasion to think about all the good things that person brought to your life.
Husband was jealous of my sunny suitcase, so I decorated another one for him. Oddly enough, he preferred a super plain and minimalist design and didn’t even want the tiniest star or ornaments. Husband and I are very different people.
Here’s the boat I submitted for Automattic charity race. It wasn’t even close to winning, but it certainly won when it comes to style. When in doubt, always err on the side of bringing more glitter crystals with you.
Tomorrow starts the next Automattic Grand Meetup. It will be my fourth one, and I’ve never been looking forward to one this much. Between the breathwork and energy healing classes, yoga, and meditating together, it feels like I’m going to a mindfulness retreat rather than a business trip. If that wasn’t enough, I’m going to […]
As a Happiness Engineer at Automattic, my job is to make sure people using our software are happy. I never thought working in customer support can be this awesome and rewarding. Our whole company, at about 1000 people now, are all gonna meet in Orlando next week. Last year all Happiness Engineers got this T-shirt […]

My Soul Cards came in a beautiful dark blue velvet bag, and I immediately thought of turning it into a night sky. Being myself, I choose a thread with metallic and holo shimmer, but applying it was much more challenging than I thought at first. As it turns out, metallic thread is extremely stiff, and […]
On our wedding we gave everyone a small succulent in a jar. Not everyone picked up theirs, so we ended up with four. I haven’t been historically a good caregiver to my house plants, but these particular ones are a symbol of our love and us growing together. I’d better make sure they grow happy, […]
Since I have an iPad that’s great for painting, drawing, and calligraphy, I don’t create as much stuff by hand as I used to. It was high time I put my collection of art supplies to some use at last. Birthday cards are my favorite things to make, as they bring joy not just to […]
At a workshop today the teacher introduced me to a mindfulness jar. It’s not that different from a snow globe, a transparent vessel with some dense liquid and glitter in it, designed to be shaken up. In its most chaotic state, the jar represents what happens in your mind when you’re stressed and overwhelmed, with […]
